Coming in July – The Hobbit
It’s unusual for a modern work to become a classic so quickly, but Tolkien’s “ring” stories, which began with The Hobbit, clearly are in this very special category. They stir the imagination and intellect of everyone they touch. Bilbo, one of the most conservative of all Hobbits, is asked to leave his large, roomy and very dry home in the ground in order to set off as chief robber in an attempt to …recover an important treasure. It’s the last thing that any sensitive Hobbit would want to do, but great benefit eventually results—not only for Bilbo but for all of the Hobbits who inhabit Middle Earth—and the hearts of those children and adults who continue to enjoy this kind of magic. New and Exciting Summer Theater Productions and Camp
Arts in Motion Theater Company is proud to announce the return of weekly children’s theater productions to the historic Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse in North Conway Village. Children of all ages will be enchanted with this wonderful series of tales, all performed by the AIM troupe of young adults including Andrew Clark, Kelsey Lildejhal, Ged Owen, Zachary Whitley and Morgaine Andrews (director).
June 15: Till Death Do Us Part: your presence is requested to celebrate a wedding with a reception that you won’t soon forget!
As friends and family come together for a night of food and fun, it will quickly turn into a night of mystery and mayhem – leaving one of the guests murdered! And you and your guests are left to solve the crime.
As the night progresses, secrets will be revealed, motives exposed and your sleuthing skills will be put to the test. What will you say when it’s your turn to finger the culprit?
The train departs promptly at 6:00. Plan to board early and enjoy a cocktail in one of our beautiful dining cars. The fare includes First Class seating for the 3-hour train excursion, a 4-course dinner, live theatrical performance, taxes and gratuities. Beverage service is additional. Tickets are available through the properties below who are packaging the event around themed weekends at their establishments.

Arts in Motion Theater Company at the Chili Festival
Arts in Motion Theater Company had a great time at the MWV Chili Festival March 2 in North Conway Village. Chef Paula Jones made her famous Bubblin’ Sweet Dublin Irish Chili and had a very respectable showing in the People’s Choice category! How to decorate a booth at the Chili Festival? Well, have some props on hand for a fantastic photo shoot. What fun everyone had. Thanks to all who helped us win the award for BEST BOOTH.
A New Home for Arts in Motion Theater Company
NORTH CONWAY, NH–Arts in Motion Theater Company’s search for a permanent home has come to a happy ending with the signing of a long-term lease at the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse. Residents of the Mount Washington Valley and visitors to the region alike have enjoyed countless classics by Shaw and Shakespeare, original works, and Broadway musicals on its storied stage. As its resident theater company, Arts in Motion (AIM) will continue the Eastern Slope Inn Playhouse’s tradition of serving as a center of the Mount Washington Valley’s performing arts while introducing a new and exciting variety of year-round programs and events.
